Join the Guild

Membership assessments are carried out at intervals throughout the year.
Assessments for 2011/2012 will be:

  • 12 January 2012
  • 21 April 2012
  • 20 September 2012

Applicants must pass all three assessment criteria, which are:

  • Originality
  • Excellence in craftsmanship
  • Good aesthetic design

The Guild seeks as members craftspeople who will make a positive contribution to the running of the Guild. Successful applicants will be offered probationery membership for one year, after which their membership will be confirmed or may be withdrawn.

Application for membership

Please download and complete the application form and send it to the Membership Secretary at the address on the form. Be sure to include your assessment cheque (£20) with your application. Your cheque is not refundable, but counts towards the annual membership subscription for successful applicants.
You will be able to submit your work for assessment at the next available opportunity (please see dates listed above).
Please also download and complete our Checklist and notes for applicants, and include it with your submission.

  • alone are not sufficient.

  • You should also include our completed ‘checklist and notes for applicants’ with your submission.
  • You may submit information in addition to the above as part of your application if you wish.
  • Your submission must reach our Milford Gallery by 4 pm on the day before your assessment.
You will not be present in person at the assessment. If all of the required items are not included in your submission, your assessment will be delayed or may be rejected.
  • You will be advised of the outcome of your application as soon as possible after your
  • assessment, usually within a few days.
  • You will be able to collect your work from the Gallery on the day following your assessment.
